Final entry: With the semester at its end, I have been contemplating what I learned from both my internship class, and my internship at the Eternal Flame. When it comes to the class, I did learn a lot. I learned how to look professional both in a virtual setting, and an in-person one. I learned that it is important to prepare for an interview. I also learned how to write a professional resume, and how to create a portfolio using a website. I could keep going on about everything I have learned over the semester, but the most important thing I learned is that I have the ability to keep going even when things seem impossible. It's about knowing that I am not in this journey alone, and there are people in my life who believe in me.
When it comes to my internship, I learned a lot there as well. But the main thing that I have learned what it takes a lot of work to run a magazine. We only had two student staff members this semester which at times made things difficult, but we just kept pushing through as a team. We will be publishing all of our content online soon. I also had the opportunity to be involved in creating something new for the magazine. As a team we came up with the idea of having a writing contest, which the Eternal Flame had never done before. It was a big hit, and it is something that can be carried on by future staff members. I will also be publishing two stories of my one soon as well. I am planning on coming back next semester to continue to be the Editor for at least one more semester.
I am very grateful for both my internship class, and also my actual internship. Both have helped me grow as an individual, and both have also given me opportunities for my future in the media world. I can't wait to see what happens as my journey in media continues.
