Week 6: This week in class I learned the importance of making a good first impression when it comes to trying to obtain a job I am seeking. I need to be fully prepared not only for the job interview, but for anything that may accure before or after the interview as well. When going to a job interview, you never know who you might run into when inside the building your interview is taking place in. If you were to enter the elevator in that building and one other person was in there with you, and you find out they are the one who is going to conduct your interview. You want to be prepared for a situation like that so you know what to say to make a great first impression.

When it comes to certian skills I have obtained through my internship, I have been able to brush up on my skill to plan an interview with a source for a story. When contacting a potential source, tone is very important whether it be on the phone or through email. I now have an interview scheduled for Monday Oct. 4, 2021 at 3:00pm. I will be interviewing this source regarding the feature story assignment my supervisor gave me. Also this week I have learned that I still need to get better at time management. Portion one of my feature story assignment is due by Oct. 11, 2021, and I still need to contact several other sources for interviews. I do believe I will meet my deadline, but it would be nice to not feel rushed at this point. I still can't wait to see what my future holds when it comes to the media world.
